Karthik, who hails from the southern region of India where yoga is still practiced in its most authentic form, was raised in this culturally rich environment. Despite starting his career as an artist working in animation and movie visual effects, he eventually became a yoga teacher due to his deep passion for the subject, which he considers an ocean of knowledge. Karthik sought guidance from four different teachers and learned various styles of yoga at different points in time. He firmly believes that knowledge should be derived from diverse sources; relying on a single source can make it rigid and stale.

Karthik strives to prioritize the health of his students while also incorporating the spiritual aspects of yoga. He aims to maintain the values and essence of classical yoga without deviation, and incorporates these principles into every session. As a teacher, he feels a sense of responsibility to impart yoga in its true form, with the hope that authenticity will prevail in a world where yoga has been distorted from its original purpose.

After initially training in integral yoga for several years with his first teacher, he had the opportunity to practice Ashtanga yoga under the guidance of Sri Sharath Jois in Mysore and Sri. Ravi and Sri. Srimathi in Chennai, India. In addition to asanas, he also practices pranayama and dharana. He earned his certification from Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Meenakshi Ashram, Madurai and later completed an Advanced teacher training certification in Vinyasa Krama taught by Sri. Srivatsa Ramaswami in early 2018.

He currently instructs Ashtanga yoga, Vinyasa Krama (following Sri. Srivatsa Ramaswamy's teachings), and classical Hatha yoga. Additionally, he provides one-on-one therapy sessions that concentrate on alignment, breath, and dristi. These therapy sessions are conducted on an individual basis.

"The strength of a teacher lies not in teaching, but in being a student," says Karthik. With over 18 years of experience on his yoga journey, he loves to share the knowledge he has gained while continuing to learn. He began teaching in 2010 and has a keen interest in Ayurveda, an ancient science of life. During his classes, he seamlessly integrates yoga and Ayurveda, providing guidance on diet, lifestyle, and exercise as needed to his students.
